Port Robinson, Ontario, Canada – The World Long Drive Association heads north of the border where competitors will take the stage for the Bash for Cash! These long hitters won’t be taking leisurely rides on the Maid of the Mist—they’ll be competing against the best in the world for their chunk of the $25,000 purse. World No. 2 Ryan Reisbeck (Layton, Utah) and No. 4 Maurice Allen (Orlando, Fla.) headline the field of hopefuls looking to get a win in the Great White North.
The field of 32 will be saying, “O Canada!”, with a grueling task at hand when they split into two groups of 16 with players needing to earn enough points to secure their spot in the top eight of each group. From there, those 16 players will advance to the Double Elimination round, where 8 more players will be eliminated. The final eight remaining will compete in the match play quarterfinals.
Last year Landon Gentry (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Trent Scruggs (Hickory, N.C.) went head-to-head in the championship match, with Gentry ultimately coming out victorious. Gentry will look to defend his title and notch his second win this season when he heads to international territory.
