The first 2018 World Long Drive tour event of the year brought the world’s longest hitters back together in Columbia, South Carolina at the East Coast Classic. The morning got off to a rainy start, but conditions cleared as the field was narrowed from 36 to the Group of 16.
Joining World No. 1 Justin James in the Group of 16 were Stephen Kois, Patrick Hopper, Mark Costello, Wes Patterson, Jeff Gavin, Kyle Berkshire, Jay Milinichik, Tim Burke, Scott Kalamar, Eddie Fernandes, Steve Monroe, Justin Moose, Mitch Grassing, Josh Cassaday and Trent Scruggs.
The East Coast Classic’s own version of March Madness took center stage as Eddie Fernandes, Wes Patterson, Kyle Berkshire, Jeff Gavin, Mark Costello, Justin Moose, Justin James and Steve Monroe moved on the Final 8.
In the end, there was only one man standing as Justin Moose took home the East Coast Classic hardware and won the first event of the young 2018 season. Moose topped out at 419 yards, narrowly out-driving WLD veteran Eddie Fernandes at 410 yard.
