The Bluff City Shootout continued in Memphis with Day 2 of qualifying on Friday, adding three new names to the 2018 Volvik World Long Drive Championship field later this year.
Joshua Koch, Rob Tiettmeyer, and Paul Ostby each secured their spot on the Oklahoma / Texas border in September.
“Once I got in the qualifier round, I felt really comfortable,” said Ostby. “It took me a while to find my swing, but once I got out there I settled in and took advantage of the opportunity.”
Friday afternoon, the Bluff City Shootout Tour Qualifier took place with 16 players competing for four spots in Saturday’s Tour event. Mitch McDowell, Zach Sizemore, Rob Tiettmeyer and Benjamin Raymond claimed the four available spots, and will be part of the 36-man field on Saturday with the preliminary round of competition getting underway at 9 a.m.
“I competed well today,” said Sizemore. “Kept the ball in the grid and will look to do the same tomorrow. Winning would be icing on the cake.”
