Steenberg Wins 2018 Bash for Cash Tour Event

Entering the day as the No. 6 ranked competitor in the World Long Drive rankings, Ryan Steenberg grabbed his first career victory on Sunday, winning the Bash for Cash Tour event in Port Rowan, Ont., Canada.

The Rochester, N.Y. resident and Buffalo native took advantage of the event’s relative proximity to home and was surrounded by family who served as witness of the inaugural victory for the 2016 World Long Drive Championship runner-up. Steenberg defeated Canadian Jeff Gavin in Sunday’s final thanks to a 409-yard drive that was enough to earn the title.

“This is a special win,” said Steenberg. “I have my family here, my whole family is in town. This is for Grandpa Don. He has seen better days and I wanted to send some love his way by dedicating this victory to him. I had to really grind and work on a few things but that’s Long D`rive. I got with my team and we made the adjustments necessary to get the win.”
