The Road to Reno Podcast is World Long Drive's new interview series, going behind the scenes with the athletes chasing a title at this October's 2026 World Long Drive Championship in Reno, Nevada. Episode 2 sits down with Senior Division standout Ryan Reisbeck.
Ryan Reisbeck has done nearly every job World Long Drive has to offer. He's competed at the top of two divisions, called balls from behind the tee box, and founded his own qualifying event from scratch, and on Episode 2 of Road to Reno, he's walking through how all of it happened.
Reisbeck is the 2023 Senior Division World Champion and the current World Number One ranked player in the Senior Division. He's also, according to WLD VP of Operations Mike Ambriz, the only player to have held the World Number One ranking in both the Open and Senior Divisions since rankings began in 2016.
But the most surprising part of his story isn't the ranking, it's how he got into the sport at all. Reisbeck told us how a single round of golf with friends in 2010, a borrowed driver, and a wild coincidence at his local driving range two days later put him on a path to the top of long drive.
